Mike Pence Breaks Silence and Condemns Trump's Election Claims: History Will Hold Him Accountable

Former US Vice President Mike Pence has stated that former President Donald Trump was "wrong" in his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Pence's remarks were made during a speech at a conservative conference in New Hampshire on Friday.

Pence, who was a staunch supporter of Trump during his tenure in office, was widely criticized for his role in certifying the election results on January 6, 2021, following the deadly riot at the US Capitol.

In his speech, Pence acknowledged the events of January 6th, calling it a "dark day in the history of the United States Capitol," and added that he will "always be proud that we did our part on that tragic day to reconvene the Congress and finish our work under the Constitution."

Pence also spoke about his relationship with Trump, stating that they had spoken "many times" since the events of January 6th and that he will "always be grateful" for the opportunity to serve as vice president under Trump. However, he also noted that he and Trump had "disagreed" on some issues, including the former president's efforts to overturn the election results.

Pence ended his speech by stating that history will hold Trump accountable for his actions and that it is "the duty of every American" to work towards a brighter future for the country.

Overall, Pence's remarks represent a notable departure from his previous loyalty to Trump and suggest a possible shift towards a more independent stance.
