Westbrook Dominates with the Clippers: Makes NBA History and Shuts Down Grizzlies Fan

Russell Westbrook's struggles with the Los Angeles Lakers were widely publicized, but it seems that the Hall of Fame guard has found his footing with the other hometown team. Since joining the Los Angeles Clippers on the buyout market after the trade deadline, Westbrook has provided the team with the spark they needed. He had a huge game on Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies on the road, with both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George out. He also made NBA history by becoming the first player to have a 30-point, ten-assist game with five different franchises, according to ESPN's Stats&Info page.

Westbrook finished with 36 points, ten assists, and shot an impressive 13-18 from the field and 5-5 from the three-point line. He previously achieved 30 point and ten assist in games with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Washington Wizards. Westbrook's fantastic game was topped off with the ejection of a Grizzlies fan.

Westbrook has started in all 15 games he has played for the Clippers, averaging 13.9 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.3 steals with shooting splits of 46.8 percent from the field, 25 percent from the three-point line, and 68.6 percent from the free-throw line. He has not yet achieved a triple-double while playing for the Clippers, but he had four triple-doubles earlier this season before being traded from the Lakers.

The Clippers are currently in a tight race with the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves for the fourth, fifth, and sixth seeds in the Western Conference standings, hoping to avoid the play-in. Westbrook still has plenty of game left in him and will undoubtedly have more opportunities to make NBA history.
